Trips
I have taken a number of trips over the years. Here are pieces connecting the various trips.
August 2007
Oklahoma to South Dakota to Gencon and back to Oklahoma
In August of 2007 I drove up to GenCon in Indianapolis, IN.
Of course, I did not go straight there. This may have been the first of the "great detours". On this trip I drove up to South Dakota first, and then over to Indiana.
Stopping along the way of course.
Start - Monument Rocks - Carhenge - Mount Rushmore - Home
October 2008
Oklahoma to Los Angeles and back to Oklahoma
In October of 2008 I took a road trip west to LA for Blizzcon. I visited a number of sights on the way out west, like the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Las Vegas.
Then there was Blizzcon in LA for the weekend. I also visited my friend Eric, who I hadn't seen in years. Luckily he has a very unique last name and was easy to find in the phone book.
On the way back it was quicker with only few stops, including Zion national park in Utah.
Start - Monument Valley - Zion National Park - Home
August 2010
Drove up to Gencon and back.
August of 2010 I drove up to Indianapolis, IN for Gencon
Start - Gencon Costumes - Home
August 2011
Oklahoma to Gencon and back.
In August of 2011 I drove up to GenCon in Indianapolis, IN.
This trip did not have so many crazy detours.
Start - Lincoln Boyhood Home - Gencon Cosplay - Home
August 2012
Oklahoma to Gencon by way of Key West, and back to Oklahoma
In August of 2012 I drove up to GenCon in Indianapolis, IN.
Of course, I did not go straight there. This was another of my great detours.
In this case, I went to Gencon by way of Key West, Florida.
Start - The Barley Oak - Fort Clinch - Shenandoah National Park - Dark Hollow Falls - Home
October 2013
Oklahoma to Great Falls, then on to Seattle, down the west coast and back to Oklahoma
In October of 2013 I took a road trip with my friend Owen. We drove from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Great Falls, Montana for a gaming convention there.
After the convention, he took a flight back home. I continued westward on towards Seattle, Washington, down the west coast to LA, then back east to Oklahoma.
Start - Great Falls - Seattle - Tolovana State Park - West Coast - Sacramento - Hearst Castle - Home
May 2015
Oklahoma to Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and onto Seattle. Came back down through parts of California, then back to Oklahoma
In May of 2015 I took another trip out to Seattle, WA. Besides Seattle itself, I stopped at some wonderful locations along the way.
Start - Yellowstone - Home
